Spring is in the air – and depicted in the paintings at the Riverlands Studio and Gallery in Red Deer.
Spring Air is a collective exhibition of 14 artists who have captured moments of transformation in the natural world at the gallery at 5123-48 St. Melting river ice, the arrival of birds and flowers can be seen in these works until April 29. On a first Friday, the opening will take place on April 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Under Pressure, a group exhibition of first and second year visual arts students at Red Deer Polytechnic can be seen through April 20 at the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery. There will be a first reception on Friday, April 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the presence of the artists.
Red Deer artist Susan Delaney hosts a one-night pop-up show at the Arttribute Art School in the Old Court House. His multimedia exhibition, Energies, can be seen on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Works by fellow Red Deer artist, Daniel Anhorn, can be seen in the Weather Magic exhibit at the Marjorie Wood Gallery at the Kerry Wood Nature Center through April 13. The artist will attend an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.
The colorful and multi-media art of Cree artist Abigail Pederson can be seen at the Velvet Olive Lounge during the month of April. A vernissage will take place on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Reality Unbound, expressive watercolors by Gordon Klaassen, are on display at the A+ Art Gallery in unit 203-4919 49th St. through April 29.
The Memphis Mafia Group will host a show Friday for the group show, Shiny Things, at the Kiwanis Gallery at the Red Deer Public Library. This show runs until May 1 and is presented by the Red Deer Arts Council. Friday reception is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Edith Chu’s exhibition of paintings inspired by her life in China, Looking Back With Rose-Tinted Glasses, continues at the Viewpoint Gallery until April 29. The gallery will be open at 8 p.m. for a reception on Friday.
Artists from the Sic Red Deer area present their works in Uncharted Terrain, an exhibition at the Lacombe Performing Arts Center, 5527 C and E Trail in Lacombe until April 21. There will be an opening reception on April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.
