Season 4 of Paramount’s Yellowstone wrapped earlier this year, and many fans want to know when the contemporary western will be back on their screens. The show’s latest episode saw the Duttons stay on their feet after fighting a painful war to keep their ranch in the family. Gil Birmingham has teased that viewers will have to wait a while before seeing the Duttons again.
Gil Birmingham has played tribal chairman Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone since 2018 and revealed season five was a slow burner in a recent interview.
“We haven’t even received the scripts yet,” Gil said while promoting his new FX true-crime miniseries Under the Banner of Heaven.
Gil stars alongside Andrew Garfield on his new show, and the Spider-Man star might be happy to hear he has time to watch the show’s first four seasons.
Andrew revealed that he had “never seen Yellowstone”.

The celebrity pair spoke to E! News from Under the Banner of Heaven, with the two joking about Gil’s lack of knowledge on the upcoming Yellowstone outing.
The interviewer asked, “Any updates on the production of season five, anything you can share?”
Gil joked, “Ask Andrew.”
Wasting no time, Andrew added: “We are under strict embargo. Sorry he is not allowed to comment, I answer all questions about Yellowstone as I have never seen Yellowstone.”
Earlier this month, actor Forrie J Smith, who plays Lloyd on the show, shared that filming will be happening soon.
In early April, he said, “We’re all coming back for season five, mid-May, so keep your Yellowstone vibes. Thanks.”
The lack of information is driving some fans crazy, with @Mightykaae tweeting, “I just really want to watch Yellowstone Season 5.”
Joe MacKrell added: “@Yellowstone Ok so when is season 5 premiering?”
@jewhaler was upset and thought there was only one thing to do, and she said, “#Yellowstone, I’m devastated that I just finished season four. Now I only have ‘to wait for season five (or maybe start season one again). (sic)
